Yes, Mailchimp has an official MCP connector. It is called Intuit Mailchimp, it has been in Claude’s connector directory since March 2026, and it lets Claude plan and design a campaign and save it into your Mailchimp account. It does not send: you launch the campaign in Mailchimp yourself. It needs a Standard or Premium plan and works for users in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. Checked on 6 October 2026.
Plenty of articles written before this spring still say Mailchimp has no official MCP server, or that only its Transactional product does. Both are out of date. Below is what the official connector can and cannot do, the community servers that do more, and how the other email platforms compare.
MCP in one paragraph
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a standard way for an AI assistant to use another app’s tools. An MCP server publishes a list of tools, “create a campaign”, “add a contact”, “read a report”, and the assistant calls them when you ask for something. What an assistant can do in your email account is exactly what the server’s tools allow, which is why the tool list matters more than the announcement.
The official Mailchimp connector
| Intuit Mailchimp | |
|---|---|
| Who makes it | Intuit Mailchimp; listed as “Anthropic verified” in Claude’s directory |
| Since | Added to the directory in March 2026; announced 28 May 2026 |
| Plans | Standard and Premium, subject to eligibility |
| Where | Users in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia |
| Sign-in | Your Mailchimp login, approved once |
| Tools | 12, listed below |
| Can it send? | No. Campaigns are saved to Mailchimp and launched there |
The twelve tools are: campaign-planner, edit-campaign, save-to-mailchimp, get-email-themes, replace-image, edit-text, apply-theme, set-active-campaign, get-enrichment, get-campaign-content, generate-image, scrape-product-images.
Read the list and the purpose is clear: it is a campaign designer. You describe the email, Claude plans it, applies a theme, writes and edits the text, swaps images (it can generate them or pull product images from your site) and saves the result to Mailchimp. Mailchimp’s own copy also mentions using your campaign history; none of the listed tools is a report reader, so do not expect “how did last month’s email do?” to work through it.
How to connect it to Claude
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
- Find Intuit Mailchimp and choose Connect.
- Sign in to Mailchimp and approve the access.
- Ask for a campaign: “Plan our October newsletter for the Coffee Club audience, three sections, our usual theme.”
What the official connector does not do
- It does not send or schedule. Launching stays a click in Mailchimp.
- It does not manage your audience. No tool adds or updates contacts, tags or segments.
- It does not read reports, judging by its tool list.
- It is not on Free or Essentials, and not available outside the four countries.
Mailchimp Transactional has its own MCP server
Mailchimp Transactional, the product that used to be Mandrill, has a separate official MCP server at mandrillapp.com/mcp. It is for developers: it signs in with your Transactional API key and offers tools such as describe_api, call_api, build_template and diagnose_failed_send. Because it can call the whole API, it can send transactional email. It has nothing to do with your marketing audience.
Community Mailchimp MCP servers
To let an assistant work with audiences, tags and reports, people use servers built on Mailchimp’s Marketing API. They are not made by Mailchimp.
| Server | What it is | Tools | Can send? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Composio Mailchimp toolkit | Hosted platform, sign-in handled for you | 272 | Yes, and it includes permanently deleting campaigns |
| damientilman/mailchimp-mcp-server | MIT licence, runs locally with your API key; read-only, dry-run and audit modes | 227 | Yes |
| AgentX-ai/mailchimp-mcp | MIT licence, read-only; last updated July 2025 | — | No |
| Insightful-Pipe | Hosted, from $29.99 a month | not stated | Yes, send and resend |
Careful. A Mailchimp API key opens the whole account. Before giving one to any MCP server, read its tool list, look for a read-only mode, and prefer servers that run on your own machine.
How the other email platforms compare
| Platform | Official MCP | Can it send? |
|---|---|---|
| Mailchimp | Yes, Standard and Premium, four countries | No |
| Klaviyo | Yes, all customers, 260+ tools in its docs | Yes, send_campaign is in its tool list |
| ActiveCampaign | Yes, all plans, since November 2025 | No campaign-send tool documented |
| MailerLite | Yes, 45 tools | Yes, it can schedule campaigns |
| Brevo | Yes, all plans; Claude connector since June 2026 | Connector: never, by design |
| Kit | Yes, paid plans, 83 tools | Schedules with your explicit confirmation |
| HubSpot | Yes, all accounts, 36 tools in Claude’s directory | Not clear from its docs |
| Constant Contact | Yes, in Claude’s directory | No send tool in its listed tools |
So “can an assistant email my whole list?” has a different answer on every platform. Some have decided it can, with a confirmation; some have decided it never should.
Our view: an assistant should draft, and a person should send
ReplaMail ships its own MCP server with fifteen tools: it writes campaign drafts and builds the email from blocks, adds and updates contacts, tags them and puts them on lists, starts automations, and reads your figures per brand and per campaign. There is no send tool, and there will not be one. That is written into the code and guarded by a test, because an assistant that can email ten thousand people on a misread instruction is not a feature.
To be exact about it: the assistant cannot send a campaign or email your list. Starting an automation for one contact will send that contact the automation’s emails, because that is what the automation is for. A read-only API key, or one setting on the server, hides the five tools that change anything.
It also has none of the gates above. There is no plan requirement and no country list: ReplaMail is software you buy once for $299 and run on your own server, so the MCP server works against your own list, on your own server. It runs locally for Claude Desktop and Claude Code, or over HTTP with an API key.
You can try the app itself in the live demo (demo / demo).
Questions people ask
Does Mailchimp have an MCP server?
Yes. “Intuit Mailchimp” is an official connector in Claude’s connector directory, added in March 2026 and announced on 28 May 2026. Mailchimp Transactional (formerly Mandrill) has its own separate MCP server for developers.
Can Claude send my Mailchimp campaigns?
Not through the official connector. It plans, designs and saves campaigns into Mailchimp; you launch them inside Mailchimp. Some community servers that use your API key can send, which is worth thinking about before you install one.
Which Mailchimp plans can use the connector?
Standard and Premium, “subject to plan and eligibility requirements”, for users in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. Free and Essentials accounts are not included.
Can the Mailchimp connector manage my audience?
Its twelve listed tools are about planning and designing campaigns. None of them adds contacts, changes tags or reads campaign reports. For that you need a community server built on the Marketing API.
Does ActiveCampaign have an MCP server?
Yes, an official one since November 2025, on Starter, Plus, Pro and Enterprise. It reads and writes contacts, tags, lists, deals and automations and can edit campaign messages; its documented tools do not include sending a campaign.
Does MailerLite have an MCP server?
Yes, an official one with 45 tools, in beta since July 2025 and in Claude’s directory since March 2026. It can schedule and cancel campaigns, so it can send.
Own your list.
$299 once. Every brand you run, unlimited contacts, your own sending account. Nobody bills you again because the list grew.
